While engaging in one-on-one conversations to support our followers can pose challenges, directing them toward existing resources or professional support can be a safer alternative.
Sharing personal stories may evoke strong reactions. Emotional responses to our content may overwhelm followers, and we want to provide options for taking care of themselves.
People often don’t know where to start. Our stories of help-seeking and self-care may inspire our followers to reach out for support. Sometimes they need a little help to take the next step.
Open conversations reduce stigma. The more we normalize conversations about mental health and resources, the less intimidating these topics become.
